almost just like FC-Maps

I found a good alternative source for FC maps and more. It's a big community and a free registration is needed to fully access the files ( very similar to farcry-maps.com but more permissive to non registered guests).

It's also a source for other games. I too believe that farcry-maps.com was really good and was also a huge source in general for the game. We will also be missing all of the scrupulous comments posted through the years by Smackie which I found very helpful when exploring and downloading new maps.

I' m definitely willing to share my maps if anyone needs a specific one that can't be found around and we are playing on the servers. Just ask.

If any of you have suggestions as to where we should go to to download new maps, please let me know or post them here so other members can go there to get maps.

It just seems that with the end of Farcry-maps.com, that the life span of Far Cry is getting shorter by the day. When the new FarCry 2 patch comes out for the PC, I intend to run a server for it from time to time as well. Those members who don't have Far Cry 2 or don't have a computer capable of running it, need not worry. NTCC will continue to run a server for Far Cry as well.

However, it will only be a matter of time before we must move on to Far Cry 2 as a clan, since that is where most of the map making is taking place now. I have not seen a new map made for Far Cry since December of 2008.

Anyway, If any of you have suggestions for where we can continue to get new maps for Far Cry, please post them here. Also, please give me some suggestions as to what you all want to continue to do, play Far Cry or do you guys want to move on to Far Cry 2 or play both as a clan.

If you have friends and a home to go to when playing Far Cry, your interest never ends with the game. Like Crap on a Stick, I too have made many friends from playing Far Cry. Rob455 and I met through playing Far Cry when I joined the old Team Server Clan. Since that time, Rob and I have become good friends, and will finally get to meet each other for the first time when he come to "Gods Country" this summer. We will finally get to sit down at the fire and drink some beer with the Abinator!

Regarding Lori's statement about cheating, it has always been a big problem with the game. Due mainly to the poor coding in the game, it is very easy to hack. About a 6 months ago, the cheating seemed to go away mostely since most people switched over to Far Cry 2.

Then I saw a big increase in the number of people that were being banned for cheating latey and this is probally due to a big increase in the number of newer players who got a free Far Cry 1 game when they purchased Far Cry 2 or an Nvidia video card.

But the biggest reason for banning in NTCC this year has not been for cheating, it has been for the players who have been just plain rude and cude. Like Lori said, people who constantly accuse us of cheating when they have no idea of what they are talking about.

One thing that I always try to do if I'm accused of cheating, is to suggest to the player to spectate me and watch me for a while. Short of that, if they don't want to watch and learn, and continue to accuse us of cheating, then their history!

How many times have we played the game and a player comes in and every time he gets killed, he calls you a F.... or and Ass H....? I always wonder when that type of player comes into the server, if they had only been breast feed when they were a baby, if they would have been a nicer person? (LOL)

Any way, All I want is everyone to have a good time and fun while playing NTCC!

I jouned this clan for a reason, I love playing with this group, it makes a great game even better. When I started playing, Jeff and Rob helped me get better by giving me tips. How many clans do that!! Plus knowing the cheaters will be kicked or banned allows the true gamer to play on a equal level (I hate cheaters)... I have made new friends by joining this clan from the east coast to the west and even over seas. I never thought that would happen.

Bottom line, I guess I have to agree with Jeff, why go anywhere else. And if someone gets kicked to allow a member in, too bad, Join the NTCC clan.....

When we run maximum of 6 players, it allows the best frame rate for all players based on ping rates, we when have increased our maximum number to 7 or more, there is a noticable decrease in frame rates that causes everyone to start to lag. This is really noticable if players are using Skype or wireless connection while playing.

Now I have researched setting up a server in a paid server that would quarantee maximum of 20 or more players with great ping rates. The cost of these varies, from paying 5 dollars per game per day, to as much as 200 dollars per month. Based our our clan size, that cost isn't really cost effective. Now if we had 500 or more clan members, then hell yes, I would be paying for that type of service.

If our clan members want to play an assualt type of game, then they can, you guys don't need permission to change a map. If myself or Rob is not in the server, you can always vote to change map to whatever type of map you want. Also Morta and Crap on a Stick have admin control as well and can always change the map for you if they are playing.

NTCC is owned and mantained by Rob and myself, we put a lot of time and effort to keep this clan running and trying to provide a great server for it's members. I would be willing to consider allowing someone else to run another NTCC server, as long as Rob and myself had RCON administration command as well. But it takes a lot of time and effort to run a server day in and day out.

I am also setting up an interclan fight for clan members only and I will be giving out more information on this shortly.

So don't feel bad about having someone kicked so a member can join our server, this server is for clan members first, everyone else second.

Now I'm not saying that becoming a member means that you cannot play on anyone's elses server, heck, I play on other servers, but the point that I am trying to make is that it is so much more fun when our server is full of NTCC members. My feelings are that if I am a member of a clan, then I play on that clan's server as much as I can.

When I was a member of Team Server, I would play on that server exclusively, and would only play on another server when no one was playing on Team Server. But even then, If I found Team Server was empty, If I entered the server, eventually someone would join. An if two people showed up, it was only a matter of time before more showed up.

When Rob455 and I were members of Team Server clan, we always were having fun because the server was usually full of members of Team Server. It was fun to banter back and forth with the other clan members.

Rob and I put a lot of effort in running NTCC and the webpage, and it would be nice if the clan members would put more effort in playing more in the clan instead of going elsewhere just because the server is empty.

Rob and I left Team Server over personal issues with the clan, but what I miss the most about Team Server was the fun we had when the server was always full with clan members. Maybe I'm wrong about this and I am making too much of this, but I guess I just don't understand why people would want to play on another server if they wanted to become a member of NTCC.

I would appreaciate your opinions on this.

I have not found the game specs for Far Cry 2 yet, so I can't be sure, but new games coming out now are being designed to be played with machines with Direct 10, versus the Direct 9 that you have now. So, if you have at lest 500 megs of Ram on the video card, you might be able to play Far Cry 2 on low setting. Until the game specs come out, it's anyones guess right now.

For FARCRY2 ,,from what Ive read.....your prob gona need to update....

At LEAST a CPU at 2.8 ,,and a Video card like GForce 7800..and prob 2 gigs ram...just for Minimun...

Parts are soo Cheap now...you should go with at least a DUAL CORE,,AMD or INTEL..depends how much $$$$ you want to spend...

Solid Snork was one of the original members of NTCC. After awhile, he quit playing and after several months, and according to our clan rules, his membership was denied because of inactivity. Solid Snork then reappeared on our server, and to be blunt, had a crappy attitude!

When he has been on our server lately, he was calling people "weak" or other names when they killed him with a rocket or nade. To be honest, it just got old. This server is here so EVERYONE can have fun. Our motto has been, It doesn't matter how good you are, we just want you to have fun.

I truely believe in that motto, and if somebody can not come in this server and have fun, and have names thrown at them, then I want no part of that type of server.

Solid Snork was also using the Merc character, and that character is loaded with errors that make it very hard to kill since the player has a lot of jerkiness and it makes it very hard to shoot at it. A lot of servers now will kick a merc player if they don't change thier charater to another type. I have told Solid Snork several times to not use the Merc player but he continued to do so.

Last night when he played, he continued to call players "weak" and just seems to always play with attitude that doesn't represent our clan very well. When he played today, I told him to remove his NTCC colors since he was not a clan member and his response to me was, "I have a job".

So as of right now, he is banned and I wanted to explain to everyone why I banned him. This is a decission that was made by both Rob and I, and I feel that it is the right decision.

Myself and some others Friends have ALWAYS enjoyed your severs!!!! Since I'm in CA.(SanDiego) the OR. server is the best for me.

But the one in FL. is COOL also..You Guys seem to play the same maps and the ones I like most..Your SERVERS always run Smooth for me..and dont forget to come by the =FEAR= server and say HI!!...WE play CLEAN also..:)

If any of you use XFIRE...if you want ...you could ADD ..wellbit ...to FRIENDS list..Sometime its easier to find and play with FRIENDS that way,,
